Medical Care

Medical care is provided by a Medical Officer. Medical emergencies may require patients to be transferred to an acute hospital for treatment. If you have any medical questions please bring them to the attention of the Medical Officer. It is hospital policy to discuss all aspects of care and treatment with residents and families.

Medicines

The Medical Officer will need to know what medication you may be already taking prior to admission. For this reason your own Doctor must write out a list of medicines currently prescribed. Please bring this with you on admission. All tablets and medicines should be given to the Clinical Nurse manager. If you have a special card which gives details of current treatment you are receiving (e.g. a steroid card) please bring this with you. Please also inform the Clinical Nurse Manager or the Medical Officer about any allergies you may have.
